So not a happy camper.
Just to put her armor in the HoM. I got the last 2 pieces of her FoW finally Shes got the OLD BLACK DYE. That should say how long ago I got it for her, well the HoM didnt dye her armor when placed. So just a warnig to others out there if you have old dye color on your armor.

The armor you dedicate changes colors from time to time. I have black dyed Primeval armor and when I go into my HoM sometimes it appears brown or red or black. I dont know what causes this but it is very facinating. Try going in and out of your hall a few times to experiment.

Sometimes my armors change colors according to what color the other ones are. I've put my elite Dragon (green), my elite Glads (was blue, now gold again, should check if it updated), and my elite Templar (red). Sometimes my Dragon is red, sometimes green, sometimes it goes back to the old default color for War armors, that yellowy color.

I've got an old red/orange dye colouring on my Ele's geo armour. It looks like the old default colour in HoM (ie that purple colour). I'm thinking that it just goes old default when it comes up against old dye colour.
On the plus side -- 4 black dyes will fix that right up for you
Edit: In the above shot -- the monky has black (albeit 'old black') chest piece armour on.

I dont like the new black dye
Yes I know about the color of the armors you wear when you enter as shown here.
now when you look at the one with the old black dye again you see the armors on HoM is different for the other armors too. Which could be the default color schemes.

EOTN armor would dye red with the "old" dye remover. And the other armors in this beige/light brown color.
Your black seems to be treated like old style dye remover!

It doesn't really matter since HoM doesn't record dye, just the type of armor. The purpose of the monument is not to show an exact replica of your gear but to act as a mechanism of unlocking (as of yet unannounced) benefits in GW2.

Same prob here, pre dye shiny metalic blue. The tards changed the setup overnight a long time ago without mentioning it. Just happenned to be that I bought 2 spare pieces (leg and chest piece) the next day and waisted 500k as I couldn't dye them in the shiny blue anymore and salvaged the pieces. Tx Anet, now give me back my 500k, because that's what I lost because of your bad communication about the topic.
Contacted support at the time (not about that 500k but about the dye setup), they can't do a thing for us it seems. And I don't see them fix the hall at this point either. We're a very very small minority.

The armor is dyed the same color as the chest peice you wore when you last clicked 'view monument' In some cases(e.g with old black) the new dye system does'nt know how to re-create it so it defaults to the armor's 'natural' color. So in some cases old black mesmer FoW showed as green, for example.
Does'nt matter in the scheme of things, but it is a pain.

I've got the same issue with my Mesmer. I've got an Old-dye combo on her armor, but the HoM displays it with the default color. Unfortunately, I've yet to find a new dye combo that even remotely matches the color I've got. I'm very reluctant to change it since I'd never be able to get this color back.

Exactly, it's very unique. Playing 3 years now and I never encountered someone with the same colour as I have. That's something in a game like Guild Wars where customization is quite limited and where it's hard to stand out of the crowd.

Wise Wiki already informs me:
Quote:
If the dye on your armor is from before the Nightfall dye update, then the displayed armor will be the standard color of that profession.

armor color follow the chest piece, of what ever you are wearing when you enter HoM.
also you don't have to buy all 5 pieces to place armor in HoM, 4 is enough.
please read this if you are interested.
